Bora Bora

It is an atoll-type island, with a central mountainous area that is surrounded by a barrier of coral reef and islets. Bora Bora is a small island in the South Pacific northwest of Tahiti in French Polynesia. Surrounded by scooters lined with sand (islets) and a turquoise lagoon protected by a coral reef, it is known for its diving. It is also a popular luxury tourist destination where some guest bungalows stand on stilts on the water.  One of the Islands that is part of French Polynesia. Capital: Vaitape Language: French  Tourism: Today the island is almost totally dependent on tourism.
